A Scandinavian Summer

Summer is here and there’s no better time to look around and think about those small changes we can make that will revive and refresh our homes. This season’s trend is to keep things minimal, with clean lines and simple styles. Look for ice whites, cool greys and natural wood grains.

Scandinavian styles continue to be an inspiration and there are many incredible pieces from several manufacturers. From the mid-century period, designers like Hans Wegner, Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen stand out and their pieces are just as beautiful today as they were when they were conceived.

Recently new design houses such as Muuto and Normann Copenhagen have made the purchase of Scandinavian furniture more affordable and accessible. The choice of calm, organic colours and simple but beautiful and understated designs have ensured that this wonderful Scandi style is finding its way back into our living rooms.
