Magis - Our favourites
There is so much that could be said about the Italian furniture company Magis. I'll keep this outline of the company short, and then I'll go on to outlining our top picks.
To start, Magis was founded in 1976. Here's a fun fact for you, the word Magis is derived from the Latin saying "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" meaning "For the greater glory of God", where Magis means More. Magis has worked with many great names, including Jasper Morrison and Stefano Giovannoni. They have won an enormous number of design prizes and earning a place in the permanent collections of many contemporary art museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum of London.
Now, for the moment you have all been reading for...Our favourite products from Magis:

Our last favourite had to be the Spun chair by Thomas Heatherwick. The Magis Spun is a stool, a chair, a sculptural object, and a spinning top in one! After lengthy research into the geometric simplification of a familiar object type, the Spun Chair was designed producing a completely rotationally symmetrical chair. This unique and fun design is such that the seat, back, and arms are all the same profile. Therefore it is not initially apparent that this is a chair, however when lent on its side, the Spun forms a comfortable and functional chair that can rock from side to side or even spin round in a complete circle. If you dare to complete the full circle, ensure you have an iron grip...
